Trailer 2 hits 475M views in 24 hours, the biggest video launch of all time
Released May 6, 2025, the second trailer revealed the wider cast and map and set a cross-platform record ahead of Deadpool & Wolverine.
Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025 and, by Rockstar's count, drew more than 475 million views across platforms in 24 hours, the biggest video launch in any medium, ahead of the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer at 365M. On YouTube it passed a million likes in under 40 minutes, the fastest for any gaming video.
It introduced Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista, Cal Hampton and Brian Heder, and showed the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga for the first time. It also carried the May 26, 2026 date that was later moved.
A note on records: Trailer 1 still holds the larger single-platform YouTube 24-hour debut at 93M, while Trailer 2 holds the cross-platform aggregate record. Outlets often conflate the two.
