Trailer 1: Vice City, Leonida, Lucia and Jason revealed
Released a day early after a leak, the first trailer hit 93M YouTube views in 24 hours and confirmed a return to Vice City.
Rockstar released the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer on December 4, 2023, a day ahead of schedule after a low-resolution copy leaked. It reached 93 million YouTube views in 24 hours, a record for a non-music video at the time, and has since passed 250 million on YouTube alone.
The trailer confirmed the setting as Vice City in the state of Leonida, introduced protagonists Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, established the Bonnie-and-Clyde tone, and carried a 2025 window that would later slip twice. Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road" soundtracked it.
