Take-Two Q1 FY2027 call: pre-orders "exceptional", FY2027 guidance holds at $8.0–8.2B
The unusually timed Friday pre-market call covered the first pre-order window. Take-Two kept the language superlative and the numbers qualitative.
Take-Two reported its first quarter of fiscal 2027 on August 7, 2026, in a pre-market Friday call that broke from the company's usual schedule and fuelled speculation about a trailer drop. The quarter included the June 25 pre-order opening for both editions.
The company described pre-order performance in superlative terms without disclosing unit counts. CEO Strauss Zelnick: "The level of pre-orders is unprecedented and astonishing. No one's ever seen anything like this before at Take-Two Interactive or in the industry." Analytics firm Newzoo reportedly called the opening week the strongest it has ever recorded.
Third-party estimates circulating in early September project total pre-orders could approach 25 million units by launch, and Sensor Tower's tracked data puts the $99.99 Ultimate Edition at close to 90% of orders. Those are analyst extrapolations, not Take-Two figures, and we label them as such.
Guidance for FY2027 net bookings stayed at $8.0B to $8.2B. Zelnick again called the year a "breakout year" and repeated that a full marketing campaign would ramp through the summer, which it did, culminating in the Netflix Extended Look three weeks later.
