November 19, 2026 holds: no third delay as launch enters the final stretch
Rockstar and Take-Two have reaffirmed the Nov 19 date through the August earnings call and the Netflix Extended Look. Here is the full date history.
With eleven weeks to go, Grand Theft Auto VI is still locked to November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There has been no change to the date since Rockstar's Newswire post on November 6, 2025, and every official touchpoint since, the May 21 and August 7 Take-Two earnings calls and the August 27 Netflix Extended Look, has repeated it.
The road here had two detours. When Trailer 1 landed in December 2023 the game carried a broad 2025 window. In May 2025 that became a specific date, May 26, 2026. Six months later Rockstar moved it again, to November 19, 2026, apologising for "adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait" and promising the extra months would deliver "the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve."
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has framed the fiscal year containing the launch as a "breakout year" and has repeated that the game ships when it is optimised, not before. Guidance for FY2027 net bookings sits at $8.0B to $8.2B, a number that only works if November holds.
What to watch next: a pre-load date (fan sites report around November 12, which is not yet confirmed by Rockstar), a review embargo date, and any word on launch-day patch size. We will update this page the moment any of those are official.
