Will GTA 6 have cheat codes? What history, the trailers and the leaks suggest
No GTA 6 cheats exist yet. Here is why they almost certainly will, what form they will likely take, and how we will publish them the moment they land.
As of September 2026 Rockstar has not published a single Grand Theft Auto VI cheat code, and none has been credibly leaked. Every page claiming to list "GTA 6 cheats" today is either GTA V's list with the number changed or invented.
Why they will almost certainly exist
Every mainline 3D GTA from III onward has shipped with cheats in single-player: button combinations on consoles, typed words on PC, and, from GTA V, phone numbers dialled on the in-game phone. Rockstar has treated them as a feature, not a bug, for 25 years.
What form they will take
Our expectation, shared by most guide sites, is that GTA VI continues the phone-dial model, with the classic button combos possibly returning as a legacy option. Fan trackers claim strings referencing a "Cheat Activated" notification exist in leaked files; that is unverified and we mark it as a rumor.
The rules that will probably carry over
In GTA V, cheats work only in Story Mode, never online, and disable trophies and achievements for the rest of the session. Expect the same. Save before you play with them.
How we will publish them
Our cheats page is already built with platform tabs, category filters, search and one-tap copy. Today it holds the GTA V reference set so the layout is proven. When GTA VI codes are official, they replace it within the hour, and the newsletter goes out.

Will GTA 6 cheats work online?
In every previous GTA, cheats are Story Mode only. GTA VI launches without an online mode anyway.
