500+ licensed tracks and a reported $150M music budget: what we know about the GTA 6 soundtrack
Only V-Rock is confirmed by name so far, but the scale of the licensing deal is the largest in games. Expect around 22 stations.
GTA VI ships with more than 500 licensed songs spanning Latin, hip-hop, electronic, rock, country and reggaeton, and press reports put the licensing spend at over $150M, the largest music deal in games. Around 18 music stations plus four talk and news stations are expected, for roughly 22 channels.
The only station confirmed by name is V-Rock, the returning Vice City rock station. Songs used in marketing so far include Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road" (Trailer 1), Jay Ferguson's "Thunder Island" and The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together".
A dynamic radio system is expected, with DJs reacting to player actions and in-game news, plus custom playlist creation from the in-game phone. We will keep a running station and track list once Rockstar publishes it.
